Spa town Bogács is situated in Heves province, in the north-eastern part of Hungary. Spa town is situated 11 kilometres far from Eger, the capitol of Heves province. At the present time Bogásc has a population of over 2,000 citizens.

Spa description

Spa town Bogács is situated at the southern foothills of the Bükk Mountains.

Spa town Bogács is an ideal place for patients with chronic locomotive system disorder and rheumatism. For all the guests there are available treatment exercises, physiotherapy and massages. Spending time here is also good for treatment of gastrointestinal tract disorders. There are five pools with thermal pool including one used for swimming. For children there is special rounded pool, where they can enjoy their stay here.

The temperature of the central spring is 70 degrees of Celsius. Local water is very rich in sulphur and minerals. Spa guest can choose between accommodation in pension, camp and wooden cabins.

Short history

A small Hungarian village Bogács is famous for its thermal spring, which was found in 1958. Local curing water is used since 2001.

Places of interest

Bogásc is situated in region where they grow good and quality wine. In the surroundings of Bogács you can visit local wine cellars, where you can try local tasty wines. On the last weekend in June, the wine festival with degustation takes place here

In Bogásc you can also visit an old stone church built in 13th century. The church has very good acoustic conditions and organ concerts are regularly held here.

If you want to visit bigger city, you can go to Eger, which has a population of over 50,000 citizens, Eger has a lot of beautiful historical sights, cafés and restaurants.
