Spa town Hegykö is located in Győr-Moson-Sopron province, which can be found in the western part of Hungary, near the border with Austria. Hegykö is 68 kilometres far from Győr, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron province. At the present time Hegykö has a population of over 1,300 citizens.

Spa description

Spa town can boast thermal spring at a depth of 1,500 meters which has a temperature of 55 degrees of Celsius. It is an acid, hydrogen-carbon water which contains iodine, fluorine, sodium and chloride.

Spa resort Hegykö is recommended mainly for people with locomotive system disorder and dermal diseases. Local water is good for the treatment of gynaecological and urological problems. Water is also good for after operation recovery.

Spa complex also offers mud baths in healing mud from Heviz. You can also choose from wide range of water exercises and massages.

Spa resort is opened every day from 9 AM. In summer it is opened till 7 PM, from October to March it is opened till 5 PM. From April to September it is opened till 6 PM.

Short history

Land around Lake Neusiedl was known by the Romans who called the lake Lacus-Peiso. The official status of spa town received in 2004.

Places of interest

Spa complex is situated in a small village and has family atmosphere. Big advantage of the spa is nearby Lake Neusiedl, which is the third biggest lake in the whole Europe. The lake is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Hegykö is one of the Hungarian villages situated on the shore of Lake Neusiedl on the border between Hungary and Austria. It is a gate to Fertö-Hanság National Park, which is home for many rare species of plants and animals.
