Spa description

Spa Rác is nice small resort that has had a very long and rich history. Its medicinal water is supplied by a source that has temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius. Water contains chlorides, alkali metal salts, calcium, sulfate, magnesium and bicarbonate. The effects of the water are particularly suitable for the treatment of gout, arthritis, chronic back pain, muscular rheumatism, neuralgia and other chronic inflammatory and orthopedic diseases.

Spa Rác offers a thermal swimming pool, massage rooms and fitness center and other great facilities.

Short history

Spa building is historic since it was built in the 15th century. In the past, famous Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus often visited this resort. Hungarian king was going to the spa through secret passage from the neighboring royal palace. In the past, the spa was referred to as "Hévízfürdő," which means "hot water". In 1865, spa undergone large reconstruction, so the current form of the spa carries significant traces of the greatest Hungarian architect Miklós Ybla.

Operation of Spa Rác works in a specific way when on certain days only women can go to the spa (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and on certain days the spa is “men only” (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). Opening hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
